The Office of Head Start (OHS) issued three monitoring protocols for FY2017, one of which is the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) Monitoring Protocol. This session will address the grant monitoring timeline when you would be subject to comprehensive versus differential monitoring and an in-depth review of what is in the EHS-CCP protocol. Even if you are not due for a monitoring visit, this is still a valuable document because every EHS program is required to self-monitor in order to maintain sound management.

This session is designed specifically for board members of Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) organizations. The HS/EHS requirements for boards are like no others. Program and board members need to know what their role is so their agency doesn’t get into trouble. Over the past few years, much more scrutiny has been placed on boards, and too many members are not fully aware. This is a must-attend session for any board member of an HS/EHS grantee.

Although the name has changed, the results are the same. If you run an HS/EHS program, you need to generate non-federal match (in-kind)! Are you finding it harder to generate? Is answering the question, "Is this allowable match?" your responsibility? Does generating in-kind fall on your shoulders? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us for this updated session. We will discuss the tools, techniques, and regulations of generating, calculating, and documenting non-federal match. Make generating in-kind the responsibility of everyone in your program. This session will focus on: What regulations and guidelines govern non-federal match. How to decide whether a contribution is allowable non-federal match. Where the most amount of non-federal match is missed. Documenting all non-federal match.
